Nae sponsors the 13th Festibity aimed at big data

What is big data? How does being surrounded by data affect us? What opportunities does this provide us?

“The moment we are currently living in is as powerful as electrification was in the past. We are experiencing the world’s datafication in real time. Everything is subject to datafication, and a sensor can be attached to anything. We carry sensors in the form of our cell phones,” explains Olga Subirós, co-curator of the Big Bang Data exhibition (CCCB).

The 13th edition of Festibity, organized by the Barcelona School of Computer Science (UPC) and FIB Alumni, focuses on big data and will include presentations by Marc Torrent, Director of Big Data at CoE Barcelona; Dídac Lee, Director of New Technologies at F.C. Barcelona; and Érik Brieva, Academic Director of the “Lean Startup Creation” program at UPC. Felip Puig, Minister of Business and Labor for the Government of Catalonia, will close the event that will bring together leaders from Catalonia’s ICT sector.

The event will also be used to honor the efforts of people or companies that have stood out in the field of information technology, including the ICT initiative award that is granted by representatives from the academic world and the sponsors.
