Nae participates in the Barcelona 5G pilot project backed by Red.es

Positioning ourselves at the forefront of 5G is a challenge that represents what drives us on a daily basis: creating change.

Red.es, the office affiliated with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, has awarded the proposed 5G pilot project in Catalonia to a consortium led by Cellnex and Másmóvil.

The initiatives for driving the development of 5G technology pilot projects aim to support the earliest 5G network roll-outs, experiment with the network management techniques made possible by this technology, and develop use cases.

For the 5G pilot project in Barcelona, a temporary joint venture has been set up in which aside from Cellnex and Másmóvil, Parlem, Nearby Computing, Aumenta Solutions, Lenovo, Atos and Nae are also participating. The consortium is also backed by Intel, i2Cat, Fira de Barcelona, the Barcelona City Council, Nissan and IESE.

Nae is responsible for project management (PMO) by performing coordination tasks, governance and risk management, and providing support to the project’s leaders and other members.

The project, which has a budget of more than €5.3 million and is expected to last 30 months, will carry out seven use cases for sectors that include tourism, telecommunications, mobility and security.
